What you're charged, and when
Most clubs bill monthly in arrears — you pay for the month you have just had, not the month ahead. That one fact explains almost every question below.
When the charge appears
Shortly after a month ends, your club's fees for that month are worked out and charged to your saved card or Direct Debit. If your club bills weekly or fortnightly instead, the same rule applies to that shorter period: it is charged once the period has finished.
Drop-in sessions work differently — each one is charged after the session has actually taken place, so you are only ever charged for sessions your child attended.
If you cancel
Cancelling stops future charges immediately. Two things follow from billing in arrears:
- A month that had already finished when you cancelled is still owed. Your child attended it, so it is charged as normal.
- The month you are part-way through when you cancel is not charged.
So if you cancel in early October, September is still billed and October is not.
If you switch class or plan
Changing class, or moving between monthly and pay-as-you-go, never bills you twice for the same weeks. The old arrangement ends and the new one begins in the same moment, and only one of them charges you for any given period.
If your membership is paused
A pause covers the lessons inside it. Those lessons are left out of the bill even if the pause has already ended by the time the charge is worked out — a pause that ran through half of a month means you are billed for the other half.
If a card fails several times in a row, Adminished pauses the membership automatically rather than retrying forever. That pause behaves exactly the same way: the period it covered is not billed. See payment reminders and collection.
If your club changes its prices
A new price applies from the next billing period, never backwards. If your coach raises the monthly fee part-way through October, October is still charged at the old price and the new one starts in November. You are never re-priced for a month you have already had.
Sibling discounts
If your club offers a sibling discount, it is worked out as your family stood during the month being billed. If one child leaves, the month they were both members is still discounted for both of them.
Something looks wrong
Every charge is itemised on your Money screen, with the period it covers. If a charge does not look right, message your club directly from the app — they can see the same breakdown and can refund or adjust it.
