Funded members: a rate that is never charged
Some members' places are paid for somewhere else — a council personal budget, for example. Put them on a special rate marked Funded and Adminished never charges them, while they stay ordinary members of their classes. They still count towards your plan’s member limit, like any active member.
Setting it up
- Go to Settings → Special rates.
- Add a rate, or open one you have, and tick Funded — never charged (fees, sign-up fee, per-session, term fees). The amount boxes grey out: a funded rate has no price.
- If you like, note Who funds it? — for your own records.
- Save. Then an owner or a coach puts each funded member on the rate from their profile, under Price tier.
A rate with an amount of 0 is not the same thing. That one price is free, but a sign-up fee and term fees still apply. Funded is for someone who is never charged anything.
What is never charged
A member on a funded rate is left out of their class fees, the sign-up fee, per-session charges and term fees. When you use Raise a fee for everyone, the page tells you how many funded members it will leave out. When nothing is owed from before, their family sees Funded — nothing to pay, and they aren't offered a paid session to book.
Events booked on an event’s public page are not covered: a funded member pays for an event ticket like anyone else. If you pick them for an event squad instead, their place shows Funded — no fee and adds nothing to pay.
Who can see that someone is funded
- Staff see a plain Funded label on the member list, on the member's profile and on the register.
- Only owners and admins see the funder note, and only on the Special rates page. It is not shown on registers, profiles or emails.
- The month's wrap-up and the Billing reconciliation report show how many members are funded — a count, never an amount.
Stopping funding
Untick Funded and save. The rate's members then pay its prices from their next billing cycle. Requests already issued are unchanged.
