Make-up sessions

If your club offers them, missing a session can earn a make-up credit — a free place at another session to use instead. This explains how to get one and how to use it, and, further down, how a coach switches them on.

For parents

How you get a credit

You get one by telling the club before the session, not after. On any upcoming session, tap Won't attend. If that class offers make-ups, a credit is created at the same time — you don't have to ask for it.

Two things to know:

  • It has to be in advance. A credit comes from a reported absence, so simply not turning up doesn't earn one.
  • Change your mind and the credit goes. If you cancel the absence because you can come after all, the credit is removed — you're going to the original session instead. If you'd already booked the make-up, that booking stands.

Do you have one?

Your dashboard tells you when a credit is waiting — Make-up credit ready — book →. You can also open Schedule → Make-up sessions at any time to see what you have.

Some clubs approve each credit themselves, so yours may say it's waiting on the coach for a little while before you can book it. That's normal.

Using one

  1. Open your make-up credit.
  2. Pick from the sessions offered. You're only shown ones your child can actually attend, so you can't accidentally book the wrong age group.
  3. Confirm. Your coach sees the booking, and the credit is used up.

Most clubs make these free. A few charge a small fee for a make-up — if yours does, the amount is shown before you confirm, and you'll never be charged without seeing it first.

Credits don't last forever

Each credit has an expiry date, set by your club — 60 days is the usual. The date is shown on the credit itself. Book before then, or it lapses.

Nothing offered?

That's normal and nothing is wrong. Make-ups are switched on per class, and plenty of clubs prefer not to run them. If you've missed a session and there's no credit, just message your coach — they can always sort something out directly.

For coaches

Make-ups are off by default, and set per class rather than club-wide, so you can offer them for a course where catching up matters and not for a drop-in night where it doesn't.

Open the class, find Make-up sessions, and pick a Make-up policy:

  • Off — no make-ups. The default. Parents see nothing and nothing is issued.
  • Automatic — credit issued when a parent reports the absence. No admin for you; the parent can book straight away.
  • On approval — you approve each credit first. The credit waits for you, so you keep a say in who gets one.

You also set how long a credit lasts (60 days by default) and, if you want, a fee. Leave the fee blank and make-ups are free.

Credits only come from absences reported before a session, which is the point: it gives parents a reason to tell you in advance, so you know who's coming.
